Tax-free limit to be lowered

Since 1 January 2025, the tax-free limit in tourist traffic is CHF 150 per person

Since 1.1.2025, travellers may only import goods for their personal use or as a gift worth a total of CHF 150 per person per day without paying tax. If the total value exceeds CHF 150, Swiss VAT must be paid on the total value of the imported goods.

The electronic toll sticker (e-vignette) for 2025 can be obtained via www.e-vignette.ch from the «Via Portal» of the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS).
