Organization

The main task of the FOCBS is to contribute to the safety and protection of the population, the economy, the Swiss state and the environment. The FOCBS employs around 4,500 people and is active at home, at the borders and abroad.

The DaziT programme simplifies, optimises and digitalises the processes for customs, tax and duty collection, and controls. This leads to a total transformation at all levels of the organisation: organisational structure and culture, processes, tools, infrastructure, legal foundations, education and training, etc. The goals will be achieved in stages and internet content will be continuously adapted accordingly.

The FOCBS is divided into six directorates. Its core tasks are carried out by the Operations and Prosecution directorates. The other directorates are Risk Analysis and Analytics, Planning and Steering, Policy and Support. They draw up the basic principles for the FOCBS to perform its key tasks and support deployed staff in their activities.
