To retrieve electronic documents via Chartera Output, you require a valid Customs client administration (ZKV) certificate and prior Chartera Output registration.
Chartera Output is available to all registered users (individuals and companies) who wish to retrieve the documents intended for them.
A Chartera Output login entitles the user to obtain documents for which the login holder is authorised.
Chartera Output strives to ensure accessibility for all people. The service is designed in such a way that it can be used by everyone equally. We continually check and optimise Chartera Output use. We follow «eCH-0059 – Accessibility Standard» and thus WCAG 2.1 at conformance level AA. Details concerning the implementation status can be found in the accessibility declaration.
Chartera Output enables you to retrieve all documents that have been allocated to your client profile and made available. At present, you can download the following document types individually or as related document groups (dossiers) to your storage device:

The range of documents available is constantly being expanded.
The documents are provided in standard formats (e.g. PDF) and, if required, also in text-based data formats (e.g. XML). Depending on the document, the file can be signed electronically.
Chartera Output documents do not differ from other documents of the same type which you can also obtain in other ways (e.g. by post or through other distribution channels). The document layout may differ.
You can retrieve your invoices, levies bordereaux, customs/VAT assessment decisions and customs/VAT refund receipts via Chartera Output and the option «Customs clients - Login with certificate». You need to have a certificate stored in your internet browser for this. You can obtain this certificate via the Customs client administration at Customs client administration – UID
If you already use a certificate to enter the e-dec document GUI, you can use this certificate to enter the Chartera Output GUI as well.
With the exception of Internet Explorer (IE), all common internet browsers are supported (e.g. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari).

No. You can use your login credentials to log in to Chartera Output directly at Chartera Output.
Yes. The documents are available for downloading as ZIP files, which can be opened with commonly used ZIP software. They contain documents in standard formats (e.g. PDF).
Yes, you still need a certificate linked to your Customs client administration (ZKV) account.
If you want to access documents issued for your CSP account via DocBox, the CSP account must be linked to your UID.
The linking must be done in the Customs client administration (ZKV). You will find a corresponding description on page 4 of document 5a: Electronic document user profile.
If you want to access documents issued for your CSP account via Chartera Output, the CSP account must be linked to your UID.

Documents and dossiers issued to your CSP account are available in Chartera Output immediately after your UID number has been activated. This does not apply to cases where your CSP account and your UID number were linked at a later date. Older documents can no longer be reprocessed on Chartera Output, but they are still available via the e-dec Web Gui.

The retention period for the documents in Chartera Output is based on the statutory requirements.
Please note that the duration of document availability in Chartera Output does not release you from your obligation to retain and archive documents.
As a CSP account holder, you now have the option of receiving your invoice in PDF format via email. You can register here.
All documents available in Chartera Output can be downloaded any number of times.
No. Chartera Output is available as a browser-based web application.
The web service interfaces for the e-dec freight customs clearance application for retrieving documents (edecReceipt, edecReceiptListe, edecBordereau, edecBordereauListe) will continue to exist.
