Aside from the process structure (processes), the FOCBS's organisational structure will also be aligned with the new requirements. The focus is on the strengthening of operational activities and flexibility in the use of resources. Effective since 2019, the FOCBS is divided into six directorates: Operations, Risk Analysis and Analytics, Policy, Prosecution, Support, and Planning and Steering. The Operations Directorate combines the former Customs and Border Guard (BG) units, and is divided into six regions (regional level) and 23 local units (local level).
